If you know a little about my life, you know that fear + anxiety has always been my struggle ever since I was a little girl. Which is why I have a heart for others going through the same thing.
God often speaks to me about fear using water. Whether it’s the ocean or lighthouses or rivers or seas. He’s shown me that He is in complete control of what is so “uncontrollable.” That the wind and waves obey Him, and so will my fear! And that He will always and forever be the light in the darkest of seas and storms - guiding me straight into His arms.
In my own life The Lord has shown me - He draws near to me in my fear. And the only thing that casts it out is knowing He is with me.
I recently heard Ellie Holcomb’s song, “Give Me Your Hand” and it reminded me of the story of Peter walking on water to Jesus.
Like Peter, there are times when we step out in great faith because we know and acknowledge that God is Faithful. And then there are times when we may begin to sink because of fear. But in both scenarios - God is always giving us His hand. Pulling us in closer to Him. Because all He wants is to walk on the water with us.
I decided to title these paintings, “His hand,” because I pray that is what they are to you.
Reminders of Truth that act as Him reaching out to you, as He always does, to pull you close, to hold you dear. To remind you - with Him, you truly have nothing to fear.
